Hull City targeting move for fellow Championship striker

Hull City are targeting a move for Rotherham United striker Michael Smith, as per a report by Hull Live.

The Tigers are looking to sign a striker before the transfer deadline and are reportedly plotting a move for their fellow Championship frontman.

Smith, who is 27 years-old, has scored five goals so far this season for Rotherham in the league. The 6ft 3inc forward would certainly give Hull another option going forward and more of an aerial threat.

Hull are currently unbeaten in ten games and have risen up the league table under Nigel Adkins. They are now 8th and six points off the Play-Offs. They are keen on bringing in two or three new signings in this transfer window. AFC Bournemouth winger Marc Pugh is set to them on loan until the rest of the season, could Smith follow him through the entrance door at the KCOM Stadium?

Smith has played over 300 games in his career. He started his career at Darlington and burst into their first-team as a youngster. He was snapped up by Charlton Athletic in 2011 but struggled to nail down a regular spot.

He moved on from the Valley after loan spells away at Accrington Stanley, Newport County, Colchester United and AFC Wimbledon to Swindon Town in 2014. Smith scored 26 goals in 72 appearances for the Robins and has since played for Portsmouth, Barnsley, Northampton Town and Bury in his well travelled career.

Could Smith be on the move again this transfer window to Rotherham’s fellow second tier side Hull City?
